Harshana has acquired three decades of professional experience in Leading, Managing, Training, Consulting & Coaching for top corporates in HRD, Sales & Marketing, Service Delivery, Key Accounts, Tele Sales & Call Centre Operations & Developments. Seasoned People & Organization Transformation Specialist, trained over 8000 managers and 60,000+ corporate team members in 200+ organizations since 2013.

At present, he is the founder & the Managing Director of DAASH Consultancy & Training (Pvt) Ltd, a leading people development & consultation company since 2013 & Director Ceylon Tea Academy (Pvt) Ltd.

Harshana held the position of Global head of HR at Expo Lanka International (2012/13), the logistical arm of Expo group. This includes warehousing, sea and air freight at EFL offices in Asia, African subcontinent, Middle East and North America. Also was responsible for the overall HR strategy and operation for the 16 country operation with 1700 staff members.

Prior to this appointment Harshana was holding the position of Senior Manager – Group HR at Dialog Axiata PLC (2002/12) heading Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, Employee engagement and wellbeing functions. He was also responsible for Talent Management & Top Talent Development, Employee satisfaction surveys and Sports for 2800 staff members during that period.

Before moving into Human Resources at Dialog in the year 2002 he was responsible for Dialog’s high user (Key) client servicing team for personalized and high level service delivery as the Assistant Manager. He joined Dialog in 1999 as a Sales Specialist to launch and introduce Dialog’s pre-paid product “KIT” and was one of the key sales leaders who actively contributed in establishing “KIT” brand through individual and group Sales Island wide. This direct sales channel contributed over 90% to sales volumes during this time, and many other channels were introduced later on to develop “KIT” sales volumes further.

Prior to this he was with GTE Directories Lanka PVT LTD (Yellow Pages 1990/98)) where he started his highly successful sales career as a Sales Executive. During his 8-year tenure in sales, he was exposed and enthusiastically involved in bringing sales through door-to-door & Tele sales mechanisms. Before he was promoted to the position of District Sales Manager Harshana was responsible for GTE Yellow pages special account unit which contributed 45% of the sales volumes. He had won many local and international awards for his achievements in sales and was recognized as a star performer at GTE Hall of fame.

Harshana’s expertise also includes one on one and group coaching for C level & other senior & middle level management team members, Strategic people development and Corporate Learning and Development, Certifying and training of trainers, On-boarding and Orientation, Developing sales and service through skills and Service standards, Call Centre special skills and process mapping.

Effective Team Building for performance, Leading and Managing change, Strategic business process outsourcing, Supervisory and Leadership identification & development through psychometric & other assessments.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources from the University of Coventry, UK and a Diploma in HRM offered by the PIM, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka. He also holds a Specialist Advanced Diploma in Teaching, Training and Assessing Learning and an International Diploma in Teaching and Training by City and Guilds, United Kingdom and a Diploma in Psychology from American College. In addition Harshana had completed a Diploma course in Out Ward bound Training (Hong Kong). Harshana is a certified trainer by multiple leading international institutes, and is a certified NLP practitioner too. He is also trained by SHL (UK), to administer occupational testing, competency based interviews and Assessment / Development Centers. Harshana has acquired the credential of a Senior Coach and a Senior Mentor awarded by IICM, International Institute of Coaching & Mentoring supporting individual and corporate coaching & mentoring.

He is a Certified Trainer and a Visiting Verifier for City and Guilds UK for Ad. Diploma/ Diploma (IVQ level 3) and the award in training skills courses and had trained and certified internal trainers of HSBC/ HDPL, First source Dialog, Virtusa, Foreign employment bureau of Sri Lanka (ILO project), AIA Insurance, NDB bank, CTC and Holcim since 2014. In addition, Harshana had conducted many public T.O.T (Training of Trainers) programs since 2006 and had trained over 1100 professional and part time trainers in Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh and Maldives.

Designing and facilitating customized outdoor adventure/activity based training for corporate teams is one of his key strengths.  He had facilitated outdoor team & leadership development programs since 2002 to groups of 20 pax to 350 pax.

He has conducted training / lecturing for the Faculty of Engineering University of Moratuwa (MBA in IT) and faculty of Education University of Colombo in the areas of Team building and Teaching skills respectively and Junior command and staff college, Sri Lanka Air force Ratmalana.

Harshana is a professional member and Executive council member of the Association of HR Professionals (AHRP) Sri Lanka (2013/14), and a professional member of the Institute of Management Sri Lanka and a member of the Sri Lanka Institute of training and development (SLITAD).
